The project, currently named West African Studios, aims to attract more filmmakers to Ghana and West Africa. Elba hopes that this initiative will help address the shortage of facilities available for African filmmaking.
In addition to his plans for West African Studios, Idris Elba announced that he intends to film a movie in Ghana in December, marking his second time shooting in the country. However, some critics have accused the actor of disregarding his Sierra Leonean roots. Elba addressed these criticisms on Twitter, assuring his Sierra Leonean fans that he has not forgotten his home country.
